Educational Advisor for the Upper Secondary School Unit

The Swedish National Agency for Education is now looking for an educational advisor for the Upper Secondary School Unit who wants to help develop and manage the school's governing documents with a focus on the natural resource area.

About the job

In the role of educational advisor in the upper secondary unit, you contribute to a nationally equitable education of good quality by managing and developing the governing documents applicable to upper secondary schools and adapted upper secondary schools. Your responsibilities include, among other things, overseeing the upper secondary school's natural resource program, along with related subjects, and corresponding programs within adapted upper secondary schools.

You will utilize and develop expert knowledge about subjects, programs, and school forms, and participate in the development and implementation of the school's governing documents. The work also involves reading and responding to consultations and participating in various government assignments.

You will collaborate with other units within the Swedish National Agency for Education as well as with various stakeholders in the field, such as industry and interest organizations and other authorities. You will also be responsible for organizing and leading a national program council. In the unit, you will have about 20 colleagues with different program responsibilities and areas of expertise, where your diverse competencies complement each other in close cooperation.

In this job, you should have:

  • a university degree with a focus on pedagogy or other education that the Swedish National Agency for Education deems relevant,
  • several years of experience in development work within upper secondary education,
  • excellent knowledge of the governance and responsibility system of upper secondary schools and the governing documents,
  • the ability and experience to express yourself well in speech and writing, as well as to review and edit texts in Swedish.

It is advantageous if you have current experience from the natural resource program and the program for forest, land, and nature, as well as work with or within Sami industries. Previous service as a principal or school manager responsible for these programs, as well as experience in investigative work within public operations, is also advantageous.
